A careful guide to staying at Cascades Casino Resort Langley

I write this site as an independent host for guests considering a stay at Cascades Casino Resort in downtown Langley City, with the Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre adjoining it. My emphasis is practical: arriving without a car, choosing a room request sensibly, and understanding the Fraser Valley setting before you send dates.

What this site does

This is not the official site for Cascades Casino Resort, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment, Coast Hotels, BCLC or TransLink. I keep it as an independent guide and booking-request desk for people who want to sleep at the Coast hotel beside the casino, attend something at the convention centre, or use Langley City as a Fraser Valley base.

The desk is simple. You tell us your dates, number of guests, room wishes and preferred language of reply. We then handle the request as a room enquiry, not as a casino account and not as gaming activity. If you already know you want to send dates, you can go straight to request a room. If you prefer to read first, the full review gives the longer walk-through of the property and what I could verify.

I separate the names carefully because it matters. The resort brand is Cascades Casino Resort Langley. The casino is operated by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment. The adjoining hotel is the Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre, under the Coast Hotels brand. On this site, when I say “hotel,” I mean the Coast property; when I say “casino,” I mean the gaming floor and its related rules.

Official booking pages and rates belong on the official sites, not here. For current hotel rates, use coasthotels.com. For resort information, use cascadescasino.ca. Here, I give context, point out what is published, and tell you plainly when a detail is not available from the sources I checked.

The property in brief

The address I work from is 20393 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC V3A 7N2. This places the hotel in downtown Langley City, close to the Langley Centre bus exchange area described in the transit sources. I do not invent a walking time from the exchange to the hotel because the verified fact set does not give one.

The Coast hotel has 77 guestrooms by a Gateway release from Nov. 14, 2018; Coast’s current page does not publish that count. Coast lists practical in-room features: free Wi-Fi, mini fridges, work desks and flat-screen TVs. The hotel also publishes a fitness centre, free parking for hotel and convention guests, and some pet-welcoming rooms, though the detailed fee and limit page returned a 404 when checked.

Room categories published in the fact set include Coast Two Queens, Coast King, Coast Queen with Sofa Bed, Coast Accessible Queen, Coast Hospitality Suite and Coast Executive Suite with Balcony. If room type is the main decision for you, I would read the dedicated rooms page before sending a request, because it notes what Coast publishes and what it does not, including room sizes.

Food and drink at the resort also need careful wording. The hotel’s official page listed ATLAS steak + fish and Match Eatery & Public House on 2026-10-23. The Buffet, Glacier Bar & Lounge and Starbucks at Cascades Langley appear in older or secondary sources, but they were not verified on the current Coast page in the same way. I keep those distinctions on the restaurants page so no one plans a meal from stale information.

Arriving without a car

Many Langley hotel pages assume a driver. I try not to. If you are coming from Vancouver or elsewhere on the SkyTrain network, the verified transit note points to TransLink buses from Surrey Central Station, King George Station, Newton Exchange, White Rock Centre, Maple Meadows Station and local Langley routes, with Langley Centre bus exchange at curb lanes on Glover Road and Logan Avenue. The route list I have is dated Sept. 2019 and comes through secondary sources, so you should check TransLink for current routing and frequency before you travel.

The named routes in the source include 502 Surrey Central Station via Fraser Highway, 503 express to Surrey Central Station and 503 to Aldergrove, 501 Surrey Central via Port Kells, 320 Surrey Central via Cloverdale/Guildford, 342 Newton Exchange, 395 King George Station in the AM peak only, 364, 531 White Rock Centre, 595 Maple Meadows Station, and local 560–564 and 372. I use only those route numbers on this site unless a later verified source is available.

The Surrey–Langley SkyTrain extension is not open yet. The official project site says the current anticipated in-service date is late 2029. It describes a 16 km elevated guideway from King George Station to 203 Street in Langley City, eight stations, and transit exchanges at Bakerview-166 Street, Willowbrook and Langley City Centre stations. Until then, the practical car-free trip remains SkyTrain plus bus, and the detailed page on getting there without a car is where I keep those notes together.

For francophone visitors

If you are coming from Québec, France or another francophone place, British Columbia can feel familiar in some hotel habits and different in others. The most important difference around this property is age at the casino door. In British Columbia, entry to a casino is 19+ with government-issued photo ID; minors cannot enter the gaming floor. That rule is separate from the hotel stay itself.

I did not find a published statement from Coast or Gateway saying that French-language service, French menus or bilingual staff are available at this Langley property. That does not mean no one on site speaks French; it means the resort does not advertise it in the sources I checked. If you want a French reply from our desk, say so in the room request. We can handle the enquiry in English or French on this site.

The French home page is at accueil en français. It is written for francophone guests rather than copied word for word from the English pages. The French section covers the hotel, the trip without a car, rooms, the Fraser Valley and the request form with vocabulary that should feel natural to Québec readers.

One small cultural note: Langley is not a resort island or a downtown Vancouver neighbourhood. It is a Fraser Valley city with busy roads, shopping streets, nearby farms, and older river settlements not far away. A little planning helps, especially if you are travelling without a car and want to spend part of the day beyond the hotel.

The Fraser Valley around the hotel

Langley makes more sense when you picture the valley, not just the building. The Fraser River shapes the north side of the region. Farmland, berry fields, horse properties and low hills sit around the city edges. On clear days, the mountains give the horizon its line. It is a place where a hotel night can be paired with a quiet day outside the city grid, if you plan transport honestly.

Fort Langley is the heritage name many visitors recognize. The facts I have include Fort Langley National Historic Site at 23433 Mavis Avenue, open 7 days from 10 am to 4:30 pm, with seasonal closures on Dec. 24/25/26/31 and Jan. 1. Parks Canada describes a recreated Hudson’s Bay Company post with costumed interpreters and oTENTik stays; bastions and the upper gallery are closed for conservation. I keep the practical half-day notes on the Fort Langley page.

Langley’s wine and farm country is also part of the picture. Tourism Langley lists licensed grape wineries and farms in the area, but I avoid naming places casually on this home page because opening hours, tasting policies and transport arrangements change. The safer approach is to read the general guide to wineries and farms, decide whether you need a tour or designated driver, and confirm directly before setting out.

If you are using buses, I would keep the valley plan modest. Choose one area, check the return trip before you leave, and leave room for rain. The Fraser Valley rewards slower days: coffee, a walk, a farm stop in season, a museum visit, dinner back in Langley, and no scramble at the end.

How to use the guide

Start with your constraint. If transport is the concern, read the car-free page first. If sleep matters most, read the hotel and room pages. If you are comparing the stay with another Lower Mainland plan, the review gives the broader judgement, including what I could not verify.

For events, the convention centre is a separate practical question. The published figure is 26,000 square feet of adaptable venue space with planning and catering. A 2018 Gateway release also described a ballroom, five meeting rooms and an executive boardroom, with events up to 1000 guests. Room-by-room capacities were not available from the checked source, so delegates and organizers should confirm directly. My notes for meetings are on the convention centre page.

For the casino, I stay factual. Gateway’s 2018 release described more than 70,000 square feet of gaming space, 1001 slot machines, 23 table games and a 5-table poker room. Current official floor counts could not be obtained because the casino site was unreachable during the pass recorded in the fact set. I do not promote gambling, and this site does not provide gambling services.

When you are ready, make the room request specific. Give dates, number of guests, arrival needs, room category if you know it, and any preference such as quiet side or accessible room. If you need a French-language reply, write that in the message. A good request is calmer than a vague one, and it helps the desk answer usefully.

The desk confirms availability and the current rate by email, usually within one working day. No card details here.

A confirmed booking that began as a request on this site earns us a commission from the hotel or the booking partner; the reader pays the hotel's own rate and nothing to us.

Thank you, the desk has your dates. You will get an email with the room and the rate.
