Meetings in Langley
The convention centre at Cascades Langley, for planners and delegates
When I look at Cascades Langley for a meeting or group stay, I separate the pieces first. The convention centre and the 77-room Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre are the hotel side. The adjoining casino is Cascades Casino Resort Langley, operated by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment. That distinction matters when you are planning rooms, catering, arrivals and access.

What the venue publishes
The clearest current figure I can use is the hotel’s published description of the convention centre: 26,000 square feet of adaptable venue space, with planning and catering. That gives the property a real meetings role in downtown Langley City, not only a hotel function room attached to the lobby.
A Gateway release from 2018 gives the more detailed breakdown: a ballroom, five meeting rooms and an executive boardroom, with events for up to 1000 guests. I treat that room-by-room detail with medium confidence because the current capacity page I found returned a 404, and I do not want to pretend I have a current banquet chart in front of me.
For a planner, that means the right first question is not only “How many people can the ballroom hold?” It is “Which setup, which meal service, which audio-visual needs, and which date?” A theatre-style meeting, a plated dinner, a trade table arrangement and a reception all use a room differently. Since the venue does not publish the detailed capacities I could verify, those specifics should come from the hotel’s convention desk or official proposal.
The address I have for the property is 20393 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC V3A 7N2. It places the hotel and convention centre in Langley City, with the Coast hotel adjoining the casino resort. For the broader stay around the meeting, I keep a separate guide to the Coast Hotel and a fuller independent review of the property.
Delegates arriving without a car
I write this site with car-free guests in mind, because not every delegate wants to rent a vehicle for a one-day meeting. The most useful verified transit point in the facts is Langley Centre bus exchange, described by secondary route information as curb lanes at Glover Road and Logan Avenue in Langley City. The same secondary table, dated September 2019, lists TransLink routes including the 502 and 503 to Surrey Central Station, the 501 and 320 to Surrey Central, and the 395 to King George Station in the AM peak only, along with other local and regional routes.
Because TransLink route pages returned 404 during the fact pass, I would not print a delegate instruction sheet without checking TransLink again. Schedules, stops and peak service can change. The safe wording for an event page is simple: arrive by SkyTrain to Surrey Central or King George where appropriate, connect by TransLink bus to Langley Centre, then check the final walking or taxi step before travel. I have not verified the walking distance from Langley Centre to 20393 Fraser Highway, so I will not guess it here.
The Surrey–Langley SkyTrain extension is relevant for future meetings, but not something I would rely on for an event today. The official project site gives the current anticipated in-service date as late 2029. It describes a 16 km elevated guideway from King George Station to 203 Street in Langley City, with eight stations and transit exchanges at Bakerview-166 Street, Willowbrook and Langley City Centre stations.
For a practical delegate note, point people to current TransLink trip planning and allow time for the bus connection. My car-free page on getting there without a car keeps those limitations in one place.
Room blocks and the hotel side
The adjoining hotel is the Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre, branded by Coast Hotels. The room count I can use is 77, from a 2018 Gateway release that described new décor in all 77 guestrooms; Coast’s current page does not publish a count in the material I could verify. For a small conference, board meeting, training session or family event with out-of-town guests, that makes the room block conversation important early.
Coast publishes several room categories: Coast Two Queens, Coast King, Coast Queen with Sofa Bed, Coast Accessible Queen, Coast Hospitality Suite and Coast Executive Suite with Balcony. Published room amenities include free Wi-Fi, mini fridges, work desks and flat-screen TVs. The hotel also lists a fitness centre, pets welcome in some rooms, and free parking for hotel and convention centre guests.
For a group, I would ask the hotel directly which room types can be held, how long the block can remain open, what cut-off date applies, and whether accessible rooms are available for the dates. Coast publishes a Coast Accessible Queen with grab bars and a roll-in shower, and the booking site has a “Show Accessible Rooms Only” filter. I would still confirm the exact needs by email, because accessibility is too important for assumptions.
Check-in is published as 3pm and check-out as 12pm, with early or late arrangements on request and fees that may apply. That timing matters for day-one registration, wedding preparation, speaker arrivals and delegates who have travelled from farther away. For room types and what the hotel does not publish, my rooms page is the better companion to this convention overview.
Food, breaks and the adjoining casino
The convention centre publishes planning and catering, but I could not verify current banquet menus, coffee break prices, service charges or detailed event packages from the facts available to me. Those belong in a direct proposal from the hotel, not in an independent guide that would be out of date as soon as a menu changes.
For delegates eating outside the meeting room, the hotel’s current page lists ATLAS steak + fish and Match Eatery & Public House. Other names appear in older or directory sources, but I keep those separate because their current status is not verified on the Coast page I could check. My guide to restaurants at the resort explains that split more carefully.
The adjoining casino is part of the same resort setting, but it is operated by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment, not Coast Hotels. In British Columbia, casino entry is 19+ with government-issued photo ID, and minors cannot enter the gaming floor. That can matter for association meetings, sports groups, family celebrations and events with younger guests. The hotel and convention centre planning should be kept distinct from any casino access question.
I describe the gaming area only factually on this site. If a programme includes an evening meal, a reception or a simple free evening, I would word delegate materials around the hotel, meeting space, dining and Langley City surroundings, not around gambling. For the casino details that are published, see my factual page on the casino floor.
What I could not verify
The main missing item is the room-by-room convention chart. I found the broad 26,000-square-foot figure, and I found the 2018 description of a ballroom, five meeting rooms, an executive boardroom and events up to 1000 guests. I could not verify current capacities by room, ceiling heights, dimensions, floor plans, loading details, built-in audio-visual equipment, internet upgrade options or current rental policies.
I also could not verify current public transit frequencies from TransLink’s own route pages during this pass, so any delegate instruction should be checked close to the event date. The old route table is useful for orientation, but it is not enough for a printed schedule.
For francophone planners from Québec or France, I found no advertised French-language service, French menu or bilingual staff statement on fetched Coast or Gateway pages. That does not mean no one on site speaks French; it means the property does not publish such a promise in the facts I could verify. If French communication matters for your group, ask for it when you request the room block or proposal.
Finally, official rates and booking terms should come from the hotel or its official pages. If you prefer to compare directly, use coasthotels.com for the hotel side and cascadescasino.ca for the casino resort. For an independent request through this site, use the form with your meeting dates, approximate room count and any accessibility or language notes.
