Plain money note
How this site earns from room requests
I keep this page simple because money should not be hidden in the hallway. Cascades Langley Stays is an independent guide and room-request desk for guests considering the Coast Hotel & Convention Centre beside Cascades Casino Resort Langley. If a request made here becomes a confirmed hotel stay, this site may earn a commission.
Home › How this site earns
The short version
This site earns only when a room request made here turns into a confirmed stay through the hotel or a booking partner. The commission is paid by the hotel or partner, not by you. You do not pay an extra fee to use this site, and I do not take card details through the request form.
That matters to me because I write for people who want to understand the stay before they ask for a room: how the Coast Hotel connects with Cascades Casino Resort, what is published about rooms, how to arrive by transit, and what the Fraser Valley feels like when you are not driving. The commercial side is the room request, not the editorial opinion.
If you want the broad guide first, start with the home page. If you are comparing the property in more detail, I keep the longer notes in the full review. This page is just the money page: what may be paid, when it is paid, and what is not collected here.
What happens after you request a room
The request form asks for the practical details a reservations desk needs: dates, number of guests, room wishes, and the language you would like for the reply. I read the request, check that it is clear, and pass it to the appropriate hotel or booking contact. The desk then confirms by email.
No booking is completed on this website. I do not ask for your credit card number, and I do not process a deposit. If a card, guarantee, cancellation rule, rate condition or identification requirement is needed, that conversation belongs between you and the hotel or booking partner after they reply.
The usual steps are:
- You send a room request through this site.
- I review it for missing details, such as dates or the preferred room type.
- The request is sent onward to the hotel or booking partner.
- You receive an email reply with availability, rate information if available, and the next step.
- If you choose to confirm the stay, the booking relationship is between you and that hotel or partner.
For the form itself, go to request a room.
Editorial independence
A commission does not buy a favourable description. I am not Coast Hotels, not Gateway Casinos & Entertainment, and not BCLC. The hotel adjoining the resort is the Coast Hotel & Convention Centre; the casino is operated by Gateway. I keep that distinction clear because it affects how a guest understands the property.
The pages on this site are written from published facts, checked notes, and cautious local context. When a detail is not published, I try not to fill the silence with a guess. That is why you may see plain wording such as “not published” or “not verified on this pass.” It is less shiny, but more useful.
The same applies to public ratings, room categories, dining, transit and casino information. I do not write gambling encouragement, and this site does not offer gambling. The casino floor is described factually on its own page, with British Columbia’s 19+ entry rule and ID requirement handled where relevant. For my publishing position and identity, see about.
Why the commission model is used
A small site still has costs: research time, editing, hosting, email handling, bilingual work, and updates when hotel pages change. A commission on confirmed stays lets me keep the guide open to readers instead of putting basic planning pages behind a paywall.
It also keeps the incentive narrow. I am paid only if a room request becomes a stay; I am not paid for encouraging casino activity, naming outside businesses, or pushing a guest into a poor fit. If the Coast Hotel is not right for your dates, budget, room needs or transit plan, I would rather you know that before you commit.
This is especially important for guests arriving without a car. The practical question is not only “is there a room?” It is also how you will reach Langley City, how late you are arriving, and how much patience you have for a bus transfer after the SkyTrain. I keep those notes separate on getting there without a car.
What this site does not do
This site does not guarantee rates, availability, room location, upgrades, special requests, cancellation terms or response time. It also does not act as the hotel front desk. The desk or booking partner must confirm the booking details in writing before you rely on them.
I do not collect payment card details here. I do not sell casino products. I do not claim to represent Coast Hotels, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment, Cascades Casino Resort, BCLC or a regulator. If you want official booking pages or official rates, use the hotel’s own channels through coasthotels.com or the resort’s published site at cascadescasino.ca.
If you use this site, you should treat the editorial pages as guidance and the email confirmation as the booking record. That is the cleanest way to keep the innkeeper’s note, the reservations desk, and the final agreement in their proper places.
