Questions I’m asked about staying at Cascades Langley

I keep this page for the questions that come up before a Langley stay: how to arrive without a car, where the hotel ends and the casino begins, what BC’s ID rule means at the door, and what happens when you send a room request through this site.

Home › FAQ

Before you send a request

Cascades Casino Resort is the resort name most travellers recognize in downtown Langley City. The adjoining hotel is the Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre, under the Coast Hotels brand, while the casino is operated by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment. I keep those names separate because they matter when you are checking a rate, reading a policy, or asking for a room.

For a fuller walk-through, I would send you to the full review, the page on the Coast Hotel, and my notes on getting there without a car. If you already know your dates, the practical next step is the request a room page.

Can I get to Cascades Langley without a car?

Yes, but it takes a little patience and a final bus ride. The published transit notes I have point to Langley Centre bus exchange at Glover Road and Logan Avenue in Langley City, with routes listed in a September 2019 TransLink table. Because the current TransLink route pages were not available in my fact check, I would verify times and stops on TransLink before leaving, especially in the evening or on a weekend.

Which buses connect Langley Centre with SkyTrain?

The September 2019 route table lists several connections, including 502 Surrey Central Station via Fraser Highway, 503 express to Surrey Central Station, 501 Surrey Central via Port Kells, 320 Surrey Central via Cloverdale and Guildford, and 395 King George Station in the AM peak only. It also lists 342 Newton Exchange, 531 White Rock Centre, 595 Maple Meadows Station, and local 560–564 and 372. Check TransLink for current routing before you travel.

Is the Surrey–Langley SkyTrain extension open?

No. The current official project site says the anticipated in-service date is late 2029. The project is described as a 16 km elevated guideway from King George Station to 203 Street in Langley City, with eight stations and transit exchanges at Bakerview-166 Street, Willowbrook and Langley City Centre stations. Older late-2028 references have been superseded by the current late-2029 statement.

How far is Langley Centre from the hotel?

I cannot give a verified distance from the Langley Centre bus exchange to the hotel because that figure was not published in the facts available for this site. The hotel address is 20393 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC V3A 7N2. For a car-free arrival, I would check the current TransLink itinerary first, then confirm the final walking route with a live map on the day.

Do I need to be 19 to enter the casino?

Yes. In British Columbia, you must be 19 years or older to gamble, and every person entering a BC casino must present government-issued photo ID. The ID is scanned and checked against the provincial exclusion list, including Game Break enrollees; the published policy says data of admitted guests is not retained. Minors cannot enter the gaming floor. This site is about hotel stays, not gambling.

Who operates the hotel and who operates the casino?

The casino is operated by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment. The adjoining hotel is branded as the Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre under Coast Hotels. The hotel front desk email in the facts uses a gatewaycasinos.ca domain, so the property’s back office can look intertwined, but for travellers the useful distinction is simple: Cascades is the casino resort brand, Coast is the hotel brand.

How many rooms are at the hotel?

The best available figure is 77 guestrooms. That number comes with medium confidence: it appears in Gateway’s November 14, 2018 release about renovations, while Coast’s current page does not publish a room count. The hotel page lists room types, and I summarize those on the rooms page, but room sizes are not published in the facts I have.

What room types can I request?

The published room categories are Coast Two Queens, Coast King, Coast Queen with Sofa Bed, Coast Accessible Queen, Coast Hospitality Suite, and Coast Executive Suite with Balcony. The Coast Two Queens has two triple-sheeted queen beds and is listed for up to four guests. The Accessible Queen lists grab bars and a roll-in shower. If quiet matters, I would write that plainly in the request rather than assume a specific side.

Is parking published?

Yes. The hotel’s published amenity text says, “We offer free parking to all guests of our hotel and convention centre.” The facts also note casino self-parking from a directory source, but the official hotel statement is the cleaner one to rely on for a hotel stay. If you are bringing a tall vehicle, trailer, or more than one car, ask the desk to confirm before arrival.

Are pets allowed at the Coast Hotel?

The hotel publishes that pets are welcome in some rooms. The fee and limits were on a separate page that returned 404 during the fact check, so I would not assume the number, size, or kind of pet accepted. If you travel with an animal, include that in the room request and wait for the hotel desk to confirm the pet room and any conditions by email.

What accessibility information is published?

Coast publishes a Coast Accessible Queen room with toilet grab bars and a roll-in shower. The site also has a “Show Accessible Rooms Only” filter and a Notice of Accessibility link. Beyond those points, I do not have a verified inventory of accessible features across the hotel, convention centre, restaurants, or parking areas. If access details are important, describe your needs in plain language when you request the room.

Can I expect service in French?

No French-language service, French menu, or bilingual staff statement was found on the Coast or Gateway pages checked for this site. I would treat French service as not advertised. If you would prefer a reply in French, you can say so in the request form and I will pass the preference along, but the hotel’s confirmation may still come in English. French readers may also use questions fréquentes.

How does a room request through this site work?

You send the dates, number of guests, room wish, and any notes such as pet, accessibility, late arrival, or preferred language. The desk then confirms availability and next steps by email. You do not enter card details in the request form. A confirmed booking is between you and the hotel or booking partner; this site is independent, and I explain the commission model on how this site earns.
